8:45 p.m.Police announce two suspects were killed at the scene of the shootout near the black SUV in San Bernardino. One officer was injured and is being treated at a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Suspects were dressed in “assault-style clothing” and carried “assault-style rifles.” One of the suspects was male, one was a female.

The FBI is “not willing to say that we know for sure if it’s terrorism.” The investigation is “fluid and active.”

A third suspect was seen running away from the scene and has been detained by the police. It is “unknown” whether that individual was involved in the situation.

“We do not have a motive,” the police spokesman told the press.

7:55 p.m.: Combined law enforcement are combing a residential neighborhood a few miles away from Inland Regional Center, with help from K-9 units.

No information about the suspects has been released, but audio from the police dispatch during the shootout between law enforcement and the suspects reported at least one ”male, dark-skinned” suspect (at 1:40):

7:03 p.m.FOX 10 News is reporting that two suspects are down; a third suspect is believed to be barricaded in a nearby residence.

6:27 p.m.: SWAT teams have moved from the dark sedan mentioned below (the first of two getaway vehicles, apparently) toward a dark SUV. At least one suspect is believed to be alive inside the SUV:

6:15 p.m.Officers have cornered a dark sedan a few miles from the site of the shooting, following a chase. One suspect has been hit by police gunfire; two are inside the vehicle. The suspects have fired on officers on the scene. Live footage from NBC-LA here.

6:10 p.m.More information on the possible target, via the Washington Post:

Marybeth Feild, president of the Inland Regional Center’s board of directors, said masked gunmen entered a first floor conference room inside of one of the three buildings in the complex.

The San Bernadino County Public Health department had rented out the room to host a holiday party, complete with Christmas trees and other decorations, said Feild, who was not in the building when the gunfire erupted. The room holds as many as 250 people, though it was unclear how many people were at the party.

5:05 p.m.Local law enforcement are confirming 14 dead and at least 14 wounded. The FBI says it does not yet know if the attack was terror-related. The sweep of the Inland Regional Center is ongoing, though authorities suggest that the suspects have likely fled the building

4:42 p.m.Multiple sources are reporting that a conference center seemingly targeted by the shooters at the multi-building Inland Regional Center was being rented out by an unaffiliated group.

Through relatives, employees locked in the Inland Center describe the beginning of the shooting to the Associated Press:

4:18 p.m.: FOX 10 News reports that law enforcement are confirming multiple shooters, but it is not clear whether they remain inside the Inland Regional Center or have fled the scene, as some outlets have reported. Four adult patients have been admitted to Loma Linda Hospital nearby, according to a hospital spokesman.

3:10 p.m.: San Bernardino police are reporting an active shooter situation at and around the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, Calif.

Several outlets are reporting as many as 20 wounded, possibly 12 dead, and as many as 3 suspects – though those reports have not been confirmed by local law enforcement. Police are currently conducting a room-by-room sweep of the Inland Center, a county facility that serves people with developmental disabilities.

The scene of the shooting is below (via T. Becket Adams of the Washington Examiner):

A triage unit has been set up nearby, and local hospitals are on alert. KIRO 7 Eyewitness News has live helicopter footage of the scene.
