Earlier today, Andy mentioned something that Syed Farook said to La Stampa. I’m not talking about the San Bernardino terrorist. I’m talking about his father.
Farook père said that his son was “obsessed with Israel.” (Duh, aren’t they all? And isn’t every anti-Semite on the face of the earth?) But “I told him he had to stay calm and be patient, because in two years Israel will not exist anymore. Geopolitics is changing: Russia, China, and America don’t want Jews there anymore. They are going to bring the Jews back to Ukraine.”
Ah, Ukraine! Garden spot, just now. I couldn’t help thinking of the late Helen Thomas, Detroit’s finest. Remember what she said, not long before she died? She said that the Jews of Israel should “go home.” And where was home? “Poland. Germany. And America and everywhere else.”
She did not mention Ukraine specifically, but that country is definitely covered in “everywhere else.” And Germany, as usual, was a special touch (although the threat to Jews in Germany, these days, is generally not from people named Adolf or Heinrich, oddly enough).
