December 22, 2015, 63 degrees in NYC. I would like to thank the ignorant selfish climate deniers for all their goodwill toward the planet.

Say, how many carbon emission credits you do need to buy to offset the electricity and heating and cooling energy use in a 12-room, 3,100-square-foot triplex in Manhattan; a 4-bedroom, 4-bathroom, 5,918-square-foot home in Dover Plains, New York; a 4-bedroom, 4-bathroom, 3,785 square-foot home in Beverly Hills, and a house in Hawaii? Or the use of a private jet?
(A private jet crossing the Atlantic emits about 21 tons of carbon dioxide; the average American produces about 19 tons of carbon dioxide in a year.)
Give Bette Midler some credit; she does walk the walk more than the usual celebrity; she says she has no plastic in her home, plants trees on her properties and promotes urban gardens! But when it comes to actual output of carbon, her wealthy lifestyle puts a lot more carbon into the atmosphere than the lifestyle of almost any individual ”ignorant, selfish climate denier.”
