Quebec’s euthanasia legalization has been given the go ahead by a court. From the Canadian Lawyer & Law Times story:
Realize this law outlaws assisted suicide and requires lethal injection–euphemistically called “aid in dying”–for qualified patients.
Doctors also cannot opt out if they have a conscience objection, but must refer the patient onward to a sure death.
As bad as Quebec’s law is, it pales next to the radical Supreme Court-imposed national euthanasia law that will be required nationally next year–and not “just” for the terminally ill.
Our northern cousins may even see nurses as medicalized killers.
Canadian law requires notices to be in both English and French. Ok.
