Nancy for Hillary? Please.

Since I’m on the media-bias beat today, a small complaint about a piece of GOP debate coverage: A correspondent on Sirius XM POTUS—apologies, I didn’t catch which one—was interviewing a representative of the Reagan Library about Nancy Reagan and how closely she is following the debates. (Answer: Closely.) The correspondent asked whether Mrs. Reagan, though a staunch Republican, might be wistfully looking across the aisle at Mrs. Clinton in the hopes that a woman might be elected president.

Stupid question for all sorts of reasons, but especially this one: Mrs. Clinton is not the Democratic nominee, and it is not even clear that she will be. There is a female contender on the Republican side, Carly Fiorina. Even if we were to assume that Mrs. Reagan is the sort of primitive who gets excited about a candidate because of genital configuration, it seems likely that she’d be learning toward the Republican woman from California, not the Democratic woman from Illinois or Chappaqua or Hell or wherever Herself is supposed to be from.
