I’m feeling pretty good about my earlier conclusion that this is a Cruz-Rubio race.
A few thoughts:
One: Everybody was really quite charming for the first half of the debate or so. Funny, cordial, even when being pointed. I thought that Ben Carson’s wryly claiming that he’d been mentioned when Jeb Bush references “everybody on this stage” was funny.
Two: I think Marco Rubio has been reading Rich Lowry, and came out either angry or doing his best impersonation of an angry man. I expect that will be helpful to him.
Three: On China, almost every man on the stage is a boob, but Donald Trump is a DD boob. A boob of Parton-esque proportions.
Four: I’ve had Ted Cruz’s tax plan explained to me by Cruz staffers, and, no, I don’t really get it, either.
It is a Cruz vs. Rubio race
