Speaking from the White House this morning, President Obama said ”Iran has fulfilled key commitments under the nuclear deal,” thus proving what America can achieve with “strength, wisdom, resolve, and courage.”
As a result, Iran ”can begin to receive relief from certain nuclear sanctions and gain access to its own money that had been frozen.”
“Perhaps most important of all,” he said, “we achieved this through diplomacy without resorting to another war in the Middle East.”
Moments before Obama’s remarks began, Secretary of State Kerry announced the United States wired the Iranian government $1.7 billion in “unfrozen” funds.
