Danke Schoen (Grazie?)

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is chockfull of music, among other things. (Do you know that George Will called it the greatest movie of all time?) You have “DankeSchoen,” “Twist and Shout,” and more. I mention Ferris Bueller, early and often, in my Impromptus today. It is a Chicago journal.

If you’d like a different kind of music, I have reviewed a performance of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for The New Criterion. The CSO, under Muti, did Falstaff (in honor of the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death). I will have more to say about Maestro Muti and Falstaff in the next NR.

In the meantime, rock out, so to speak.

'Ferris Bueller,' 'Falstaff,' &c.
