Fr. Bazi Goes to Washington

I mentioned here and here (and earlier here and here) Father Douglas Bazi, a Chaldean priest from Iraq whose people fled ISIS in Mosul. Very far away from our political woes are a persecuted people who are living hope, despite their circumstances (which are not unrelated to our political whims and seasons). The last time I saw Fr. Bazi he was in Washington, D.C. pleading with the United States to simply tell the truth about the genocide of Christians and other religious minorities that is happening in the world today. That finally happened on St. Patrick’s Day and now is the time for considering what next can be done to help keep Christianity from being extinguished in the Middle East.

The National Review Institute and the Heritage Foundation are partnering on Wednesday to feature Fr. Bazi and others to discuss what can be done to help. If you have the opportunity, please do make the time. Your life will be enriched having encountered Fr. Bazi, who himself has been tortured by Islamic militants, and yet radiates that peace that someone who has had to choose that which is most important in life tends to. Please join us on Wednesday. And if you are nowhere near D.C. on Wednesday, sign up to watch the livestream of the event. Details and RSVP information are here
