George Will has written a scorching anti-Trump column, here. Actually, it’s not scorching. It just relays some simple facts and comes off as scorching.
He reminds us of one of Trump’s infamous statements, or boasts. In a memoir, Trump referred to his “experiences with women, often seemingly very happily married and important women.”
I thought of Trump and his relationship to his followers. They seem happily married. And some Trump people will follow him no matter what. He could staff the government with illegal aliens from Mexico, for all they care. They belong to a cult of personality. And they would be loath to admit having been conned.
Others, though, will be awfully disappointed, I think — especially if they have a conservative bone in their body. They’ll feel gut-punched. “Put not your trust in princes” goes double for Trumps.
