Bob Corker’s Extremely Uncomfortable Turn as a Trump Surrogate

Bob Corker has been talked about as a potential Trump VP. If Corker’s performance on ABC’s This Week this morning isn’t enough to get him bounced from the short-list forthwith, assuming he’s on it, I don’t know what will. He was incapable or unwilling to defend signature Trump positions, and he seemed uncomfortable throughout. His case for Trump amounted to: Maybe he’ll change. His performance perfectly encapsulated the establishment’s wishfulness about Trump, which has been the posture of much of it for a long time. Remember when Charlie Black was saying that Trump would be scared if he won the nomination and could be coached? That’s obviously not the way it’s turning out.
