Gun Nuttery in Slate

Dahlia Lithwick claims that the individual-rights reading of the Second Amendment is a “hoax,” a “fib,” and a “lie.” So, of course, she has to reckon with the evidence and arguments that led even liberal constitutional scholars to embrace that reading. Ha ha, no. We do get to learn a lot about Lithwick’s feelings.

In the fifth paragraph, we also learn that “outside of the GOP,” it is “widely understood” that the individual-rights view is a hoax. In the ninth paragraph, we learn that the individual-rights reading has managed to sucker 76 percent of Americans. I guess Trump is right and the Republican party really is growing.
