Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan gave speeches that were necessarily abstracted from Trump and Trumpism, although both were quite forthright in making the case for supporting him as the best chance to enact important elements of the traditional Republican agenda.
I didn’t like Christie’s speech as much as some other commentators. The call-and-response struck me as stilted and the indictment of Hillary lost force given that Trump agrees with a number of the foreign-policy positions that Christie condemned.
