AP Reporter Rips State Dept. Spox: 'Am I Speaking English?'

Courtesy of “the most transparent administration in history,” this gem of an exchange, between State Department spokeswoman Elizabeth Trudeau and Associated Press reporter Matt Lee:

The notion that there might have been an “improper relationship” between the State Department and the Clinton Foundation during Hillary Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state was reinforced by recently revealed emails in which longtime Clinton aide Doug Band requested Clinton “take care of” a mutual friend by giving him a job at Foggy Bottom. Huma Abedin affirmed that “we have all had him on our radar,” and that “Personnel has been sending him options.”

Asked about the nature of the relationship during Thursday’s State Department briefing, Trudeau said that the State Department is “regularly in touch” with a wide variety of organizations and individuals. Then she repeated that answer — verbatim, several times.

An unsatisfied Lee posed a different question:

I’m sorry, are you — am I not speaking English?

Is this — I mean, is it coming across as a foreign — I’m not asking you if — no one is saying it’s not okay or it’s bad for the department to get a broad variety of input from different people. The question is whether or not you have determined that there was nothing improper here.

To be fair, Trudeau is just the latest in a long, proud line of incompetent State Department spokeswomen.

Last year, the Washington Free Beacon compiled a montage of Lee’s greatest hits. For your viewing pleasure:
