Ben Carson brushed off Donald Trump’s mockery of his “low energy” on Meet the Press this morning.
BEN CARSON: Everybody has their own personality. If you like to do that, that’s fine. That’s not who I am. And I don’t get into the mud pit. And I’m not going to be talking about people. I will tell you, in terms of energy, I’m not sure there’s anybody else running who’s spent 18 or 20 hours intently operating on somebody.
CHUCK TODD: Do you think people mistake your soft-spoken [style] with a lack of energy?
CARSON (in just about the calmest, softest voice imaginable): I think so. I have plenty of energy. I do have a tendency to be relaxed. I wasn’t always like that! There was a time when I was very volatile, but I changed.
